I got the opportunity to try some of the recipes for a new pizza place slated to open in Fredrick MD Bussin Pizza. It was pretty cool hearing about all the ingredients. The dough is made with a 400 year old line of sourdough starter. What do you think #pizzasky

The original tomb of Thutmose II's was recently discovered. It was built behind a waterfall but the Pharaohs grave site was moved due to flooding.

Ancient Egyptian engineering couldn't escape the might of Mother Nature. Thutmose II's flooded tomb stands as a testament to nature's enduring power.

Rime ice is a really cool looking ice that forms when supercooled water droplets freeze onto surfaces.

Soft rime forms when in calm wind conditions.
Hard rime forms moderate wind conditions.

All the trees were covered in frozen rain this morning. This small tree seemed to have more ice than the others. Icy but beautiful.

Home made pizza finally with a perfect crust.

My son wanted to add a little kick so we added a new habanero garlic hot sauce to the pizza sauce.

Turned out perfect.

Not sure if you can get Dr belly's hot sauce outside of knowing someone from North Attleborough, MA but it was tasty.

The world's biggest consumer of palm oil is Unilever. This was really a one two punch to Unilever because a suitable replacement is sunflower oil.

Some of the biggest uses for palm oil are ice cream and soap.

Long story short. The cost of soap and ice cream is almost doubled.

The Ukraine war has had global impacts in interestingly subtle ways.

One of those ways was cooking oil. The supply disruption of sunflower oil caused major increases in cooking oil some over 200%.

Specifically palm oil spiked causing Indonesia to ban exports. They produce 57% of the supply.

Wondering what to do with leftover cranberry sauce Introducing

Cran-Orange Christmas cocktails.

Scoop or two of cranberry sauce
Gin
Orange liquor
Lime juice
Simple syrup

You will need a sieve to filter the solids when pouring into a coup glass.

The plans for the US capital were supposed to be exactly aligned. However nature has a different plan. The site for the Washington monument has to be shifted because the ground wasn't solid enough to support the tallest stone structure in the world.

In 1848, aluminum was rare. At the time it was more valuable than gold. It was often reserved for special occasions by royalty like Napoleon III who used aluminum cutlery for his most honored guests.

This is why the tip of the Washington monument is a 100 ounce aluminum pyramid.

The original design for the Washington monument was very different. The current design was chosen because the cost of the original design were too high. They had to simplify it to just the obelisk.
