Sorry for the long post, and I know I’m just a random but this is my area of expertise, and I wanted to note that these divides exist. And hopefully explain why these pollsters are making these suggestions for candidates.

There’s several disconnects in the party rn. Between affluent white Dem voters who tend to be more progressive and working class voters who tend to be more moderate. Between the terminally online base (me) and the not online base. The question is how we bridge those divides

Rarely, if at all did they discuss social issues. Issues like trans rights, abortion, gun control, were not focused on. This doesn’t mean that these candidates threw these issues under the bus, it means they just didn’t talk about them as much and focused on what the majority of people care about

The argument from this report isn’t to abandon these issues all together, but rather to prioritize speaking on economic issues for example. This is what we saw with the elections in 2025. All candidates from socialists to moderates focused on economic issues ->
