The Chicago Bears are back
For Chicago Bears fans, the idea of playoff football has started to feel more like a memory than an expectation. That feeling shifted when the Chicago Bears hired head coach Ben Johnson prior to the 2025 campaign.  During the first few weeks of training camp, that renewed sense of hope could have easily been mistaken for delusion. Then the results started pouring in, with the biggest win being Saturday’s wild-card game heart-stopping victory against the Green Bay Packers.

For Lyllieanna Herrera, a DePaul junior, the New Year arrived with the crunch of green grapes and the boom of fireworks. Crouched beneath a table as the clock struck midnight, Herrera began to think about her hopes for every month of 2026. For each one she had, she ate a grape.
