Why do we need a federal guaranteed income? AI can answer this one. As the income divide widens in our country, AI is emerging and, in due time, will negatively impact the job market. AI could wipe out as much as half of all entry-level white-collar jobs.

Many Americans rely on these jobs to live.

I know it’s counter intuitive - but if we had UBI that was set at a level that enables dignity and autonomy - it would be easier for people to find work. Being at stress inducing levels of poverty all the time just sucks up the brain power needed to get well and find the right job.

“Just get a job,” they say
“It’s easy to find work,” they say.

But what if you’re unhoused and living out of a tent? How easy is it to apply for a job when you have to fill out tax information, provide a home address, and obtain a social security card?

Fund guaranteed income.

Meet Eleanor Cepero-Percy, DBIP participant and 13-year Army veteran. Before receiving direct cash from DBIP, Eleanor was homeless for three years.

Today, she has an apartment and can buy food for herself. Direct cash allows Army vets like Eleanor the chance to rebuild their life.

• 51% of individual homeless veterans have disabilities
• 50% have serious mental illness like PTSD
• 70% have substance abuse problems
• 50% are aged 51 or older, compared to 19% non-veterans

Universal Basic Income is automatic, unconditional, paperwork-free insurance we can actually use. It's always there—before, during, and after uncontrollable shocks occur. It's a non-withdrawable stable floor for a stable society. Want certainty? UBI delivers it; same amount, same date, every month.

A quick thought we had this morning… 🤔

In the world of quantitative and qualitative data, it’s worth noting that alongside the numbers, participant stories are just as powerful. We’ve seen more voices in the GI field highlighting that qual. data deserves the same credibility as quan. research.
