Interesting Video. The end state is a bit of a stretch, but there are some interesting observations. Wonder what other #macroeconomics nerds think about this?

ok, so this is totally out of left field. Taking an interest in Stoicism. Mainly because it's got a lot in common with Buddhism. Stoicism makes the same basic observations, but seems more simple and direct. I could never get on board with reincarnation tbh. Death = eternal dirt nap, deal with it.

Question for the peanut gallery: How long do you keep working at a day job when you've saved enough that you'll be able to live comfortably even with significantly below average investment returns? In other words, how much is enough?

A nephew got his shit taken over bc password reuse and no 2fa. He reached out to me and thought I was gonna go all Liam Neeson on his behalf or some shit.

Instead I'm explaining to him what google authenticator is.

pro-tip for mortgages: interest rate buydown calculators don't factor the tax savings (it's deductible). Assuming your effective tax rate is 25%, you can hit break-even in as little as three years.

Quite pleased with the final product. It was hard to see the light at the end of this tunnel for a bit, but we’re happy with the end result. Will be up for order soon, stay tuned!
I've now seen the final product that was a collaboration of myself, @densem0de.bsky.social and @thecloudmane.com for the AWS Advanced Networking Specialty Cert Guide from Packt and I feel a lot better. The editing process was rough. But it turned out well. 650 pages, roughly. Coming soon.

It really did turn out much better than I thought it would. 😀

The price gouging in health care is insane.

Yesterday, I received a seven-month supply of Tirzepatide for $2.4k. Eli Lilly shut down compounders, so the compounder offered a bulk deal for the final refill. Pharmacy price? $11k. Makes $2.4k feel like a bargain, doesn’t it?

hi Bluesky what's good? Thanks for the invite @daz.bgpstuff.net. Me? Up late working on this book chapter about DNS. What's amazing to me is ARPAnet ran off a single master hosts.txt file from like 1972 until 1983. That was a pretty big network to use a single flat file!
