Symptoms
It's typically painless but can be itchy. The swelling is located just proximal to the glans of the penis and has been described as a "lion's mane" because of the puffy ring appearance. 🦁 Some kids may have dysuria or urinary retention but this is rare.

Boy comes in with a swollen penis. There's been no trauma. He's able to urinate just fine. It doesn't seem to bother him. Oddly enough, his parent tells you that this tends to happen during the summer and typically goes away on its own. You see this on your exam. Whoa! What's your diagnosis?
