Ok I thought This Guilty Land had a dark theme. Just wow. I do like to try games that make me uncomfortable. This Guilty Land did that to me as well. I think its one of my most memorable game sessions and not because I was happy or excited. It was the horror of what I had just done.

I love this game. One of the things I love about Cole is his ability to make a 2nd Edition of a game and it doesnt get easier, less edgier, or less interesting. It just get better, easier to play, etc.. Still contains all the same feeling though.

So my rule now is unless teaching the tech is the lesson goal. The tech is neccisary because there is no way to do it otherwise. The tech does enhance the lesson rather than is just a cute way to do it. Otherwise no tech.

I am not anti technology. I use it myself constantly. I think introducing too much of it too soon though is just not good for kids. The but they will need it in the future argument is crap as well. Teach someoen to think and learn and they can learn it later.

I had a proffesor that was very critical of it in college because he said educational technology people always assume that tech is always getter than not tech. They only discuss benefits but never costs. I can confirm this is definitely true.

School was never supposed to be about hobbies, jobs, or other crap. It was about having educated citizens with a broad knowledge base because it frankly makes you a better human.

I dont say this jokingly that if Hollandspiele quit making games I would remember that. Like years later I would walk by my shelf see one of yoru games and be sad that I couldnt look forward to the next wierd, odd, awesome thing that comes into existance.

Its like the only movie I can think of in my life that didnt spoil the whole plot line in the trailers. Like liget I did not see the whole future thing coming. I think that was one of the reasons it was so good. Actual interesting suprises.

one class period is just not going to be a valid form of assessment of knowledge and skills going forward. At the very least not a major form of assessment like say a big project instead of a test.
