I’ve held a certain distance from polycrisis crowds, despite agreeing with their systemic diagnoses. Because there is a fine line between diagnosis and foreclosing options for the future in our imagination. Or as Amitav says, “to imagine an apocalypse was tantamount to inviting it to happen.”
