Astonishing as it seems, the way we’re socialized, we may not recognize just how abusive and highly controlling our situation is/was until years, even decades, later.

I’m so lucky to share my life with a soul mate who wouldn’t dream of controlling my appearance or anything else in any way.

I mentioned hearing of a new streaming series in which the woman, who’s now home raising three young children and feels she has control over nothing (been there) decides to have all her hair cut off and loves it.

Yes. But. Equivocating with words like “malnutrition” hides the reality: They are deliberately starving the people of Gaza, a war crime. Failing to name it truthfully minimizes both the atrocity and the responsibility.
