That makes sense. We have two different tastes... I personally enjoy Selune's perchance for fiery, chaotic-good vengeance against oppressive figures that shines through with Aylin.
(Sorry for blowing up your post & notifs, also...)

That was a misunderstanding on my part. Though, I don't read as Aylin to be someone who'd go down a path of corruption: she still has a lot of goodness and devotion to both Selune & Isobel, and is only violent in response to her abusers enacting equal, if not more violation upon her.

You make a pretty cool point about how Isobel's never there to face these violent moments, but Isobel still knows Aylin's magnitude & capabilities -for- vengeance. It's what makes them so complimentary: Isobel's velvet covered steel, and Aylin's steel covered velvet.

Right? I think it sucks that a lot of cool details about them are buried in different dialog paths. Building on your point, there's still a heaping amount of vengeance. Isobel's reveling in the idea of Aylin slaying you herself, and remarking on how she "glowed" when she came off of the battlefield.

Aylin's 2 bouts of aggression are always within the bounds of what was going to happen to her. Her stomping in Ketheric's head was just an eye-for-an-eye balance of severity in regards to his torture, and Lorroakan was about to do the same.

I think this is where we diverge.

Lorroakan's death was pretty measured, tbh. He was a powerful, influential wizard who even communed with Ketheric and Balthazar about Aylin's immortality. He was set on enslaving her with the same magnitude and power.

Oh, definitely. She has a lot of contained rage, but I think it's a mischaracterization to show her as purely being fiery and ballistic. Aylin's actually quite forgiving (ie. wanting peace with Tav/Durge, if you gave her to Balthazar), as well as calculating and careful when she needs to be.

The different triggers (especially for A + I in Act 3) can be really specific. In this case, it's if you tell Isobel at camp plainly that you sold Aylin to Lorroakan---in which she says she should strike you down where you stand, before leaving camp to save Aylin.

Aylin isn't necessarily aggressive. She reacts in righteous power when you step on her toes, but is never off-the-walls. She pleas with you to simply keep Isobel away from Lorroakan... who reacts angrily, and rushes into trying to save her angel. There's a cool balance there between them.

I think, tangentially, it's also good to recognize that Isobel isn't just all compassion. She has a lot of that similar righteous anger as Aylin, but channels it into being a stalwart protector of Last Light.
