Okay let me make a correction I've never been backstabbed by anyone who has made a verbal agreement with me to team-up.

Non-spoken agreements are just assumptions... 🔫

If and when you do get the artbook, don't forget to take time to look at your treasures from time to time.

While at the time of this particular video it wasn't well researched for videogames at it was from 2014 this should get into more details about simulator sickness

Okay so here are some sources.

The exact phenomenon is called simulator sickness, but looking it up you are going to get a lot of sources on aviation flight simulators or VR games.

I'll list sources from most to least accessible.

Starting with videos...

Unless you hard coded these effects in a way that can't be undone you can at have the menu option to nullify or even intensify these effects.

Even if it was inevitable, you can make the drop out from nausea smaller and smaller.

Quick answers
1.I can find some source material during a break.

2.It depends. One or all of these could trigger or none at all and be something like the map viewed at a certain angle like the Delta Halo example. -

I would make the bet and say that for @selaco.bsky.social 's case the issue was instantaneous if not mere seconds of exposure.

People are going to bag on you for your... and I'm not going to sugar coat it, dismissive wording.

But to your credit your tilted map does have a visual anchor that could be unintendedly aiding in preventing motion sickness symptoms.

It's the sky👆.

But that may not be enough on release day.

For you this could mean that there is a portion of your paying customers who quietly drops your game with no complaint.

Remembering it as "that cool indie game they couldn't finish for some weird reason 🤷".

Could mean the difference of a positive, and very positive overall score on steam.

Exposure time to the tunnel section was about 10-30 seconds at most but 5 seconds would be enough to make him vomit.

But once we concluded that it was just the tunnel sections, he would attempt to tough it out on repeat plays for heroic or legendary, with mixed success.

We made a plan, he would drive the tank with his eyes closed.

While I would escort him through those tunnels clearing them out ahead of time.

He thought it was silly at first but after closing his eyes for those sections we managed to finish all of halo 2 together.

The article explained that certain games or areas will make people motion sick. Explained the disconnect between visual and physical sensory input, how this was most prevalent in FPS games.

I told my dad that maybe the tunnel section was making him sick.

Halo2, the delta Halo 2 mission where you are on the scorpion tank and go through a tunnel in the ruins my dad would always get viscerally sick, thinking that something was wrong he would call it quits and go to bed.

We didn't get past that level until I found an article in Xbox magazine.

Depends on what qualifies as an issue.

Motion sickness can be acute, subacute, or non-existent, depending on the person. Examples include VR.

But for this non-VR game I have one example using halo 2, my dad and an article in from Xbox Magazine that helped me and my dad keep playing together

Why am I here talking to you about this?

Because this morning I wanted to stream, and I booted up the game I wanted to stream and the desire to stream evaporated.

And I understand this wasn't because I was demotivated.
It was the anticipation of streaming was satisfying enough to help me move on.
