I quit Twitter over two years ago, and I decided to take the plunge here. My interests include science, history, movies, classic TV, working out at the gym, and even though it's a terrible social climate for it, politics.
Republicans even HATE a conservative health care plan that a conservative think tank proposed. It's because Cassidy and his buddies do not believe that the government should play a role in health care or the health insurance market.

Then when health care becomes more unaffordable, blame the Democrats for not working with the GOP on some imaginary fix for high health insurance costs. Remember folks, Cassidy and the GOP are not good faith actors. The ACA is based upon what the Heritage Foundation proposed years ago.

In fact, this latest plea from Cassidy sounds a bit like panic to me. Cassidy really doesn't want to do anything about extending those subsidies. It's the usual GOP con. Make lots of noises that you "care deeply" about this health care, but you haven't done dick about it for years.

It's not like he hasn't been in office for over a decade or more (House member 2009-2015, then Senator from 2015 to present). And he just voted "NO" to extend the ACA subsidies. In fact, he authored a bill back in 2017 to REPEAL the ACA. Therefore, call me more than skeptical on this plea.

I knew she would say some shit like that. If memory serves, she voted against ACA back in 2010. Her recent proposals smack of cutting ACA subsidies. Collins would be happy if she could kill the ACA without leaving her DNA all over the crime scene.

My kidneys had shutdown, and my heart went into tachycardia. I'm going to negotiate for the cheapest treatment while I'm having a medical emergency. Really? The GOP healthcare plan is to simply let people die.

When I told the woman on the phone calling to collect that I could not pay the bill and would have to file for bankruptcy, she said, "That's fine." That's fine. I had to get help from a relative to try and pay the bill for visiting the emergency room for anaphylactic shock!
December 11, 2025 at 12:48 AM
In that environment, you don't have a right to medical care. Any provider can simply not provide you service if you cannot pay upfront. Yes, you can go to an emergency room, but I have experienced that before. I didn't have insurance, and the hospital still billed me for thousands of dollars.

This is the same cruel and stupid argument that Republicans always push with healthcare or with worker rights. Give the consumers the power! They can "negotiate" better prices for their own healthcare. Since when has any single person been able to "negotiate" with some healthcare provider?

I wish some reporter had the stones to shove his/her own cell phone into Johnson's face and say, "Read it for yourself. What do you think NOW?" Instead, we play this inane game of "teenager in trouble excuses." "I wasn't there. I don't know what you are taking about. I never read that!"

Oldest dodge in the book. Paul Ryan did this ALL THE DAMN TIME when it came to insane shit that Trump said. It was later revealed that Ryan had seen what Trump Tweeted or said, and Ryan figured that playing stupid and lying was easier than telling his voters the truth.

The real mission was to steal private info on Amercans that the government had, so Musk could monetize that info. Musk has copied all our taxes and any health info that the federal government has.

That intrepid and courageous reporter will not be Kristen Welker. She was one of those that jumped on the Hillary Clinton email "scandal" with both feet. And when Welker got this new gig, her first interview was with Donald Trump. She's another "access is all that matters" reporters.

Thanks for proving once again that conservative Republican doctors will place their politics above the health of their patients and constituents. You had a chance to stop a known quack from being the head of HHS. But Cassidy is a coward and obviously doesn't believe in the many oaths he took.

God bless that woman. She put herself up to run in a very gerrymandered RED district and put the fear of God into Republicans. I just wish she had won. Then, Republicans would have been shitting in their pants. In the past, the DCCC wouldn't have spent a penny in such a campaign.
