Under the last government an incinerator was given permission for Warnham, with Crawley in the plume. I asked the minister what steps could be taken to improve their safety and, given current overcapacity, for a moratorium on new incinerator construction.

11 years after first discussing with Crawley College the importance of bringing local businesses together with skills training, we are finally starting to see that dream realised.

Amateur boxing clubs play a vital role helping young people stay on the straight and narrow, supporting physical fitness and developing UK champions of the future. With clubs often struggling with financial viability, I asked the Secretary of State what support can be offered to grassroots boxing.

Having inherited a housing crisis, I'm relieved Crawley will be seeing an extra £423k from the Government to help deal with local homelessness pressures.

That's on top of the national £1bn new spend on new temporary housing and the £39bn for new social and affordable housing.

The removal of voices from the frontbench representing the majority of the party and PLP was unfortunate.

Without hearing those voices behind closed doors, public division and rebellion becomes far more likely.

I've voted for Lucy to ensure every part of the movement is heard.

Meeting with venues over recent weeks the challenges facing hospitality are clear.

There are local things we can do to help and nationally I'm seeking business rate and VAT changes, but the greater licensing flexibility announced this week is an improvement.

Glad to have had the chance today to discuss changes needed to support the hospitality sector and to inspect the £15m retrofit of the ibis Styles hotel on Manor Royal. First time I've come across a hotel using heat pumps, as they close-in on net zero.

Always great attending conference.

Had the chance to speak at several events and made it round all the organisations constituents asked me to visit.

We live in tough times, but the UK has been through them before and I come away confident we will build a better future for all.

Last week I met with the UK's Palestinian Envoy in expectation of yesterday's announcement.

It's a key step towards a two-state solution, but it won't end the genocide or save the hostages. Only a negotiated peace can do that and until then the UK must do all it can to end the bloodshed.

Following approaches from several constituents who have endured harrowing crimes and have waited years for their cases to go to trial, I approached the Justice Secretary to see what can be done to ensure justice is now delivered.

Transport is a huge part of Crawley's economy, not only due to Gatwick and the wider aviation sector, and as a major logistics hub. I asked the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology of the work being done to develop sustainable transport technology for the future of our economy.

Labour must deliver for Britain, but it cannot do that without listening to voices from across the whole of the movement, from first time Labour voters in 2024 to lifelong members, the #mainstream.

That’s why I’m backing @mainstreamlbr.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and today I joined with several other MPs and Peers to re-establish the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cancer in Children and Young People to help bring greater attention to the issues around childhood cancer in Westminster.

Great talking with The Downsman and Greene King about investment in community pubs and the impact of recent changes to the hospitality industry.

Further changes to business rates are clearly needed to keep retail and hospitality alive, and there also seem to be options with VAT.
