Painting when I can, not as much as I'd like.
Sad to miss it this year but I'll be on baby duty. Would love to know if I could get Lancer signed if I sent it with a friend!

Learning all the ways magic got misunderstood and misused in N K Jemisin's Broken Earth was fascinating!

Part 2 hopefully tying it back together, but it could have cut prior to their appearance easily.

For sure! Happy to try and help because there's so much. I started cheaply with a tile pallette or a DIY wet from a takeout container. I'm not an amazing painter but just starting and seeing how I improve each time keeps me coming back. That and all the beautiful minis from GW and beyond

There's a lot of youtube content for technique like thinning paints, drybrushing, etc. If you're a reader like I am, the goonhammer 101 series is fantastic. www.goonhammer.com/how-to-paint...

Painting can be clean edge highlights, slapchop, or grimy weathered grimdark. Or mix it up! There are no rules (unless you show up at a tournament I guess).

Shades are thinned down colors to bring out depth, like panel lining or shading and tones. I use all of them but they all behave differently. More thoughts to follow...

For paints, a big multi pack is a deal but probably more paint than you need? Maybe just a few bottles. There are probably 3v types to be aware of. Regular Acrylics, contrast/speed, and shades/tones. Speed paints flow into details and offer a good quick job of contrast in one bottle.

If you've already got clippers xacto and plastic cement experience that's great! Assembly can be a learning curve of its own. Next is primer brushes and paints. GW brand stuff is fine but overpriced. I've been a big fan of Army Painter Fanatics line of paints and their other tools are well priced.

In regards to supplies you'll need or models? Knowing what tools or experience you're starting with would help. Happy to share some experience!

Love messed up wardogs! I smeared some astrogranite on mine before priming to get some additional texture before rust.
