What is wrong with these people?

What is broken in their brains that they would willingly withhold food from hungry children (who are entirely dependent on their captors for food), and then just keep showing up to that job day after day?

Are there any of these jailers who view those kids as human?
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Yeah, this is the economic argument against having first-line PCPs all be NPs and RNs. They order more testing, and more frequently make medical errors than MDs and DOs.

Hospitals and med systems will quickly reject this guys “discount” plan, because paying MDs and DOs is way more expensive.

I mean, isn’t “on the securities market, yes” by and large the correct answer there?

Maybe too in the weeds for TV, but as I understand it, in futures, insider trading prohibitions are much narrower. So a stance that it’s bad (if not illegal) would be kind of weird for the SEC commissioner to take.
WATCH: Trump’s SEC Commissioner just refused to say ‘insider trading is bad.’

I’ve been thinking about how, as a lawyer, I’ve had to swear to “uphold and defend the US constitution” in some version at least four different times:

1. Applying to law school
2. Applying to sit for my state’s bar exam
3. Being admitted as an Attorney
4. Being admitted to a Federal Court’s bar

Hell yeah, build me Titanic 2! It can’t sink again!

Modern technology is indomitable by the petty and weak forces of nature. I LAUGH at the pathetic ocean even attempting to conquer my unsinkable aluminum ship (inspired by spider secrets).

Not a ton of reporting on it, but I grow worried about the “fight” being teed up for SCOTUS on whether a Federal Court can issue/enforce an injunction that actually undoes an illegal presidential order.

These shenanigans and the rigmarole have got to stop. Enough is enough.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you shouldn’t be owning a McDonald’s.

I was assured that such a cave would not occur under Generalissimo Mamdani’s leadership. Zohran will NOT be pleased to hear of this insolence.

SCOTUS see blue wave

SCOTUS need to protect economy, ensure GOP can win in future

SCOTUS decide some tariffs illegal

PLOT TWIST: POTUS DGAF what SCOTUS says, and continues to burn everything down

Hey it’s me, your buddy. I no longer work for the CFTC, that was SOOOO long ago. I barely remember being a CFTC employee!

Curious to see if the output of an AI can be used to satisfy the pleading standard, RE Robby Starbuck.

I know he also alleged in person interactions, but if an AI output alone is enough to substantiate damages and intentionality of defamation—we’re so fucked.

Not to put too fine a point on it—but you also can’t unilaterally declare something “off the record” even if you say that beforehand.

You both have to be in agreement.

A meeting of the minds, as it were. Offer, acceptance. Mutual assent.

Pretty sure “274 agents” is just the number of J6 losers that turned face when they got caught and snitched on their fellow traitors, I.e. “informants”

Honestly seems low

I would like to nominate Justice Jackson for the reverse Taft (with a back-twist). SCOTUS to POTUS then back to SCOTUS.

The text of the second amendment is a lot more protective of “states can have and control their own national guards” than it is “every man woman and child gets one.”

And yet, not seeing any 2A fanatics out here screeching about the presidents nationalizing state guards against the state’s will.

As apocryphal as the claims are, I still see orange carrots as a symbol of European monarchy.

To that end, it is the duty of every American to reject the orange root, and consume only non-orange carrots (purple and whatnot).

No kings means no kings, even in stews

New add-ons to the roster for the Third Founding’s key first amendment cases:

Kimmel v. Carr
IceBlock v. Bondi

More to come, I’m sure!

Shutting down your own government is associated with cowardly desperados, and the despised Ku Klux Klan.

The GOP lacks honor.

Just really curious on one point with MAHA: when was America healthy? Like what specific date is their benchmark for “going back” to?

Thinking about this one a lot lately. The ideological precursors to RFK Jr.’s current anti-vax crusade were such pieces of shit from the very start. And the movement has only gotten worse since.

The WaPo’s law and politics columnist doesn’t understand that Murthy was a standing ruling— a decision fundamentally about states trying to intervene on behalf of alleged jawboning victims with a handful of individual plaintiffs thrown in as an afterthought— and ignores Vullo entirely.

Yikes.
