So sometimes, I’ll find a song from my childhood that I’ve never heard with lyrics before. But today was the first time one brought tears to my eyes while I was just out and about. It’s not a deep song, it’s not a deep message, and somehow old music and new poetry hit me square in the heart.

When the change happened, the world burst open. No wonder people had such disdain for poetry - they were getting as much as they could ever want blasting out of every tinny supermarket speaker. Beautiful words enveloped me everywhere.

Maybe that’s why I ended up staying in the fandom and living in a long term relationship with another furry. You guys were the only ones who gave me the space to learn how to be humans together. Animal people together.
