Drink more water
I’m in favor of the change because it gives people more choices. If people don’t like the aesthetic of it they don’t need to put those cards in their deck, but giving more options, not less, seems like it’s free here. I’m also not a big commander player so my opinion kinda doesn’t matter anyway

*internal, not intellectual

Mechanical color pie. Same deal with this in a mono blue deck. MaRo recently-ish did a drive to work podcast on this, which is worth checking out:

Raise dead type effects to not tread on blacks toes aesthetically, even though green is perfectly capable of regrowing any type of card. A g/b hybrid card could then be a raise dead effect, which in a mono green deck would be a uniquely restricted regrowth, but would still be within greens…

Effect. Drawing cards is always within scope for blue, even if paying life for it is unusual, so this is not a break for blue. Another example of this type of thing is how green has regrowth effects but black only has raise dead (return creature to hand) effects, and they avoid giving green…

This is actually a perfect example of intellectual design consistency for hybrid cards. It comes down to aesthetic color pie, and how colors can do things. Blue can draw cards without restrictions; typically black has to pay life, so the black card draw is the more restricted version of the…

We bought almost all our baby clothes in Amazon and have noticed a sudden decline between the first and second child, so only about two years. Enshitification coming for everything

That’s good to know, thank you!

I think the cubecobra bots must be hard coded to never put duplicates of cards in their final decks. I have a 12 brainstorm twobert and there’s always an almost mono u bot who drafts 7 and plays 1…

Commander games with no sol rings are better commander games.

This video is how I learned I’ve been Minneapolis drafting with one too many packs this whole time 😭. I assumed it was 9 packs to hit the usual 45 card pool, oops

Definitely agree with you there

I’m just glad there’s no alchemy cards (as far as I’m aware). I’d rather see a copy paste from mtgo than have the only difference be alchemy cards.

Extended: so dead it doesn’t even make it on the list of dead comp formats.

Outside assistance at even a prerelease is 100% not ok, and you should call the judge and have them put a stop to it.

Larian studios is what made BG3 great, not WOTC’s ip.

I think, as with most things, the middle ground position is most reasonable. House rules are great and should be encouraged, but they aren’t an excuse for 5E to not be a cohesive ruleset as written. PF2E is extremely cohesive and also allows room for house rules and freedom of interpretation.

Gotcha, thanks for the response! Sounds like I’ll need to work on getting those two cards eventually

It’s not about having the means, it’s about allocating the resources, which they seem to have decided they won’t do if they don’t have to. Paying for twice the art and and extra set of creative work (names, themes, etc) for the same cards isn’t gonna have great ROI.

Perhaps making their constructed format sets be dependent on multiple external companies’ IP agreements was a bit short sited. No way to have seen this coming of course.
