This illustration’s process blended graphite pencils, Copic markers, shitty photography, Unreal's MetaHuman, and Photoshop. I used MetaHuman to create the faces so they felt more real and specific, and used my own body for the poses.

First mockup with photos and renders and shitty digital drawings combined. Graphite pencil drawing, now with the characters wearing armor and other clothing, all just made up at this stage. A Copic marker grayscale shading pass on a different sheet of paper so I could overlay it later for shading and texturing. Final illustration in full color. A hairless allgender shaman kneels down in front of a pool of water, holding up a small mortar filled with a purple pigment. They are barechested and wearing a kilt, and they cringe, half-smiling, as the pigments are badly splattered on their scalp by a red-headed girl and boy who are fighting for a paintbrush right behind them.
