My success rate is a bit higher, but how much of that quantifiably is because I'm better at context engineering? Hard to say, but the point is that if that's the differentiator, it's still a quasi-black magic tool.

I work on a team of 14 senior/lead Linux systems engineers. Me being the only one with any significant AI experience, I'm yoking the other 13 around. These folks can't get GPT 4/5 to give them correct information about a trivial topic 50-60% of the time.

I think the spec-driven development initiative could really get some ground if it picks up; it shows promise. Largely, I agree with your premise. My competing thought is weighing this against what I've termed practical uses.
