Layer 3: now we get into the good stuff. Darkest black. Specifically a blue-based black instead of the richer red-based tones.
Because on gold, it turns to greenish-gold-black irridescent. On blue over gold? Even darker and more purple toned.

The goal again, is organic irridescence, just like you get from crow feathers in sunlight. So apply a second messy layer, this time in blue, which, on top of gold, picks up a green tinge. Ignore the beak spots, emphasize the frathers especially towards the edges.

Okay. Got through surgery. Got nov-dec rent paid. Now for the real challenge which is getting in supplies and trying to kick myself ahead of January and february and get an event and show circuit started up and flowing again.
