That particular example crossed my mind too, though I did know someone else that was misinformed about what the Dream Act was due to conservative disinfo, and came around later. Increasingly hard to stay ignorant about things like current ICE raids so there's microscopic plausible deniability today

To be clear this was not someone I dated but a previous straight friend years ago, but generally the cold insistence on something being administered 'properly' is a tell. I'm sure there are plenty of ways that can be deployed now

One person who I expressed worry about losing gay marriage to told me 'they should've passed it through congress instead of relying on the courts' instead of sympathizing even a little bit turned out to be a weirdo, so there's that gem to look out for.
