Aesthetic immediately dredged up memories of puzzler Archer Maclean's Mercury.

Never thought I’d be saying this about a game called Fish Eyes II but that cover art is gorgeous.

I replayed this so many times as a kid. It’s a shame they dropped the role-playing aspect after the GBA version.

I’ve had the same experience with it. I also feel like it’s oddly scrappy for a first-party Nintendo game. The camera is pretty terrible at times, like when tunneling through terrain. It’s a very charming game, but it has some obvious flaws.

The Gate is the only one of these I haven’t seen and forever keeps falling down my to-watch list.
