17. Spiral Mountain - Banjo Kazooie

Even tho I didn't play Banjo Kazooie as a kid, but hearing this song puts a grin on my face as if I did. The song's bouncy, whimsical vibe is unmatched on N64, and is an amazingly charming song that is an easy mood booster whenever it plays.

wait yeah holy shit what the hell

They put the Minecraft and Until Dawn movies on there but not Sonic 3. Sonic was robbed.

Haste is awesome! It's made by the same people who made Clustertruck and Peak, and it's a momentum based platformer rougelike.

Like you said, moves at sonic speed and it's stupidly fun to play.

Fair, it's just that for me, they were prominent parts of the trailer, and if it's meant to be "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie", then the focus should be Galaxy.

It makes me worry that it will be a do-over quality-wise. Throwing in references and familiar mythos to keep fans interested.

It's a tough line to walk with any adaptation sadly. You have the chance to grab new potential fans sure, but you have the pressure of living up to the expectations of the existing fanbase.

With series with dedicated and long-standing fans like Mario and Zelda, they're walking on egg shells always.

I'm remaining optimistic that they have taken what was good and bad about the first film on board to make Galaxy good, but we shall see.

The trailer featuring just as much content from Odyssey and Wonder doesn't give me much hope tho.

Jesus christ, I went downstairs to get a cookie and my notficiations are nuts. That was fast.

Yeah. The ultimate goal of creativity in media imo is to give an audience something they didn't know they wanted.

The Zelda Movie being a fusion of Zelda and Lord of the Rings (judging by the screenshots and filming location) has a great chance to do that.
November 17, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Alright, mini ramble over.

TLDR: I agree that the Mario Movie isn't a good film, but a very fun one for Mario fans. The Zelda movie potentially not going the reference heavy direction is a good thing imo, as it can be a good film first, and a great adaptation of Zelda alongside that.

The Zelda movie has the chance appeal to fans of the pre-existing franchise, AND has the oppurtunity to appeal to people who just simply enjoy fantasy films.

That's the best thing an adaptation can do. Give an audience something to enjoy, and a drive to dig into the original material because of it.
November 17, 2025 at 4:12 PM
The best way I can put it is this.

If you weren't a fan of Mario/somehow had never heard of or interacted with the I.P, would you have still enjoyed the film? If you're not a kid, I feel like your answer has a decent chance of being no.

The Zelda movie has the potential to do the opposite of that.
November 17, 2025 at 4:12 PM
It's why I'm not excited for the Mario Galaxy movie. They'll have to prove me wrong that it won't be just that again.

The Zelda movie, thanks to the series' more dramatic and serious source material, has more potential to be a good fantasy film first, and be a good homage to the Zelda series.

And yet I'm somehow still more interested in seeing this than I am the Mario Galaxy movie lmao
