Yes we won’t get that till polls close but there are trackers that should have insights quickly. I definitely want to know where the burst of Queens voters are coming from — will make a big difference.

Just saw that 3pm turnout is higher than total turnout in any Mayoral election since 2001. And there will be a surge after 5–polls are open till 9.

Not any time recently. If Zohran gets 1M+ votes it will be the first time since John Lindsay in 1969.

The poll workers seemed quite stressed yesterday, but in an upbeat way. The space was not really built to accommodate crowds so they were running around trying to corral folks into organized lines. They did a great job.

Also spotted a celebrity, acquired many delicious treats, and purchased a tote bag I definitely do not need to commemorate my 24th and final year as a NYC public school parent.

No that was definitely the longest line ever, but this isn’t that location. There are now multiple early vote sites in the neighborhood and the line yesterday was much longer than 2024 or this year’s primary — all for early in-person. And our nabe had the highest primary turnout in NYC.

My neighborhood is a high turnout neighborhood in general…people here vote. (I may be in the extreme but have never missed an election, even when there was only one race on the ballot and it was an uncontested primary.)

My normal precinct is 51 but for early voting it’s John Jay.
I brought my kids voting for many years but the older one is a married adult living abroad and the youngest had Halloween plans today — she’ll be a voter next year.

I’ve lived here since the early 90s and it’s changed a lot in that time (esp. the first decade) but there are timeless qualities for sure.

It has changed A LOT. But we do still go big for Halloween.
