This morning in church we heard of Jesse's rod. At Torrence Thomas's service they heard Psalm 23, Thy rod and thy staff. And they laid the verger's verge over his body. Today is the day I learned that they all come from Latin VIRGA, by way of French.
I'll never hear those words the same way.
