After paying respect to Pele at 5 am, with the fountains of lava shooting 100 feet high, we come upon a guy smoking a huge blunt we could smell 10 feet away. “Is there lava?” he asked. “Lots of lava” I replied. “Is it spouting high?” “Oh yeah.” “ How high?” “Higher than you.” “That’s pretty high.”
