How will youngblood devs learn to grow and work in a team setting so they can make their mistakes and learn from them as I did when I started out in 2014? Industry innovation only happens when torches get passed.

It’s a safer bet from a business perspective as budgets get tighter, sure, but what happens in ten years when devs begin to retire or leave the industry due to its volatility?

Unfortunately, these days companies invest in senior roles for their years of skill build up, understanding how pipelines work for interdepartmental collaboration, and not letting personal ambition get in the way of slowing production to hit milestones.

Barriers of entry for next gen talent and skill gaps are just getting bigger. Over correction of interest rate cuts during the pandemic tech boom compounded by the current uncertain economic climate is creating an unsustainable industry.

- it crushes any ambition and drive for people to step out of their comfort zone to innovate on new ideas or passions. There's that saying that children are our future, and it applies to industries. Making it harder for new innovation to break through means we'll just be stagnant with progress.
