we had to say goodbye to our sweet Layla today. She fought the cancer best she could but it was just too much. She crossed over at peace and comfort with the family around her and we’re thankful for that and the happy years we shared. I miss her so much already. 🌈

whelp 9 days, 37 trekking miles, 9000 feet in elevation, 4 rhino sightings, and a countless amazing Nepali friends later and the journey closes out. What a remarkable adventure and what a remarkable country. Until next time, Nepal.

morning…final coffee toast to Annapurna as we head south to Chitwan today for the final few days in Nepal.

today was 10 miles total with 2700 ft in elevation gained to Ghandruk village (sitting 6800 ft) and a nice view down into Modi Khola valley. Also, Nepal’s marigold game is strong

got into Pokhara then about an hour to the trail base and 5.5 mile trek up to a Gurung village with a pretty amazing view of Annapurna South peak. What a start.

Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal and a cornerstone of Tibetan Buddhism. Prayer flags were ripping in the wind. Very cool visit
