Hey Bluesky! As a recent X refugee I thought I should introduce myself:

Name: David
Pronouns: He/Him
Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Interests: Cities, Transit, Biking, Camping, Travel, Gayming (strategy, builders, indies), Cats, Music (electronic, pop, classical), Cooking
Vocation: Urban Planner
These would be just east of WeHo, but would speed up transit + improve reliability on Metro route 2 to/from #WeHo during rush hour similar to the recent La Brea lanes. I’m excited to see more of these going in & could not be more supportive. 🚌💨🤩

Flying out of Burbank for the first time in awhile today. Nice to see the progress on the replacement terminal. I’ll miss the short walk from the Metrolink station, but thankful there still won’t be jet bridges so we’ll keep the novelty of walking up to the plane. 🛫🚞 🤓

End of an era! Stopped by the City maintenance yard to pick up the last sign for a speed limit above 30 mph in WeHo today! Thinking I’ll put this up at my desk and use it as a zoom background… 🧐

Not a fan of being recorded, but I am proud we were able to reduce speed limits Citywide in WeHo. Fountain was the first major street to go from 35mph to the new Citywide max of 30mph (the other major streets have since followed) and much bigger changes are in the works!

Not sure when google maps added these transit direction Home Screen and Dynamic Island widgets but they’re pretty cool! 🚇 🗺️🤩

Our quest to ride all the long distance Amtraks continues with the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle! 🚞

Rode the last of the interurbans while we were in Chicago! The US used to have 1,500 interurban lines between cities and towns covering 16,000 miles of track and only this 90 mile line in Indiana and Illinois remains operating more like commuter rail these days.🚃🤓

Finally biked the lakefront trail to Hollywood Beach! As an Angeleno, lake beaches are confusing but the trail was great!

Can any Chicago folk weigh in on the SSL website and google disagreeing on eastbound departure times? 10:30 & 11:45 departures don’t seem to exist in google maps? Always wanted to take the South Shore Line (the last interurban!) and have a friend in Indiana we’re debating getting coffee with Monday

@ladotofficial.bsky.social testing out upgraded protected bike lane barriers around the corner from us. Concrete is so much more protective than flimsy plastic bollards or paint. Take their survey and tell them these are great and we need them citywide here: form.typeform.com/to/mKQsn7LQ?...

Denali National Park has a pretty cool ‘lil bus system dating back to the 70’s. It’s less pleasant in the rain though… 😅🚌🏔️

Highly encourage any WeHo or nearby residents to come to this community meeting on Tuesday! We'll be sharing the latest on the City's first protected bike lanes and other safety improvements. 🚲📆✌🏻

New fare gates are up at Vermont/Santa Monica. It seems like they are set to require tap out which was a surprise. Still saw plenty of people use the emergency exits so unclear what the benefit of these will be on reducing fare evasion if that’s their purpose...

Checking out the updated transit connections to LAX this morning! Signage has definitely improved on the Metro C Like (green) since I rode it last!

We may only have 3 blocks of La Brea in WeHo, but I’m excited we were able to extend the Metro automated bus lane enforcement pilot program to keep Metro Route 212 & City of West Hollywood Cityline Commuter buses moving on both sides of the City limit. 📸🚌💨

Excited to ride in the final (& my 1st) AIDS Lifecycle all 545 miles from SF to LA next week. In this final stretch (+Pride!), I’m just shy of my $4k fundraising goal. Can you chip in to help close the gap & support the LA LGBT Center + SF AIDS Foundation? giving.aidslifecycle.org/index.cfm?fu...

Was excited for a new subway train yesterday but she turned out to be an old Breda painted with a yellow snoot to match the new bois. This morning’s Pride train did spark joy though! 🚇🏳️‍🌈✨

Checked out LA’s newest bike path today. Despite a $143 million price tag and endless delays, the “rail to rail” trail along Slauson somehow manages to end two blocks short of both the A and K line stations on either end despite fenced off empty lots of former ROW between it and said stations… 🫣🙄🤦🏼‍♂️

Every surface parking lot on the Wilshire corridor between DTLA and Santa Monica should be replaced by one of these.
I absolutely love all of the neo-art deco that’s been built in NYC recently
