Yeah, I think the use case varies. Long haul is hard to electrify, but something like around town delivery trucks or a garbage truck making constant stops and returning to the same site for overnights is totally doable.

I live in Lincoln, a mid-sized city, and I describe it the same way. Most all of my kids' classmates live in our neighborhood and I run into people I know all over town, very much small-town vibes like the rural place I grew up.

Fair, but probably still an improvement vs the 82nd Airborne or 1st Marine Division trying to run a province after removing the local government.

Thomas Barnett pitched something similar he called the "system administrator" force. Conceptually a bunch of technocrats who come rebuild/run a developing country after war there wrecks it (ie: post invasion Iraq).

A time-honored tradition of NCO's keeping new officers from making dumb mistakes. 🤣

I am the actual bluesky stereotypical 38 year-old and my parents were in school during integration, this is not ancient history!

The middle school I went to was the old black school in town, it even had (has?) an old championship banner in the gym from the pre-1970 teams.

When I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska from Columbia my property taxes more than doubled. But it turns out you get to have nice schools, parks, bike trails, roads, even public neighborhood pools!!

The benefits are worth every penny!

I'm impressed that they found Euro data going back that far. 🤣

WMD’s were the big cause in the lead up, then we find actual chemical weapons and cover it up.
