It’s the first movie I’ve seen where the story and script could feasibly have been spit out by generative AI. I don’t think they did that… but it was so flat and formulaic that it’s at least conceivable.

This is good advice. I usually just let his stuff flow by but I’ve been guilty of sharing it. Including today 😅

There's no better way to celebrate his life today than to press on with that work every day. 6/6

I admire Dr. King beyond what I can express. The real man, with all his brilliance and flaws and bravery and frustrations and vision. He sacrificed everything to help us begin to make our claims of equality and justice a reality. 5/

...and "when machines and computers, profit motives and property rights are considered more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, materialism, and militarism are incapable of being conquered." It's heartbreaking how much those statements still resonate today. 4/

AOC is sharp as hell, endlessly charismatic, tenacious, and speaks like an actual human being. And she has that FDR "they are unanimous in their hate for me - and I welcome their hatred" energy toward the GOP and reactionary centrists. I think she's a bet worth making. She's ready.

The news about Rob Reiner and Michele Singer's murder is more horrible and heartbreaking with every update. I remember reading an interview where he said that his budding romance with Michele inspired him to change the ending of When Harry Met Sally to a more hopeful, romantic one. 4/

He desperately wanted to direct The Shawshank Redemption but graciously stepped aside so its writer Frank Darabont could make his directorial debut. He stayed on as producer and mentor because he wanted that movie to be made no matter what. 3/

He started and ended his film directing career with Spinal Tap and its sequel. Just incredible. 2/
