Great example from Peter Sullivan
‘Identity Theories of Truth and the Tractatus’ by Peter M. Sullivan This is, as they say, part of a research project. It is one of two papers on the opening statement of Wittgenstein’s Tractatus, that the world is the totality of facts. The first paper (Sullivan 2000) concentrated on the idea of totality and asked whether there can be one totality of facts. This paper addresses the idea that the world is a totality of facts rather than of things: its concern is with what it is to conceive of the world in that way, and why one might do so. (In later stages of the project I hope to reach the third sentence of the book.)
