The joy of writing.
Discovering the story as you go and being the first to experience it.

Just a bit every day, and keep on going. A lot can be achieved with a lot of little things.
And if I don't reach the goals this year, there is always next year.

Put the finishing touches on my first novel. And start on the sequel. Promised my partner I would.
Get my second novel to the final stages.
Finish and submit a short story that is still in a rough state.
Oh, and get better at writing.

Well, I'm an amateur and I just get to work on my projects. Making King technically wrong.
I agree with the underlying message that inspiration hits faster when you work on a story that when you wait for it.

Write, edit, improve, repeat.

I feel that.
I'm both revising and learning with each round of edits.

I want to say I know, but I don't think I truly know the amount of work goes into successfully publishing a book.
December 2, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Wish I had that focus while writing.

Great explanation.
I especially like the advice, don't over explain as that is something I struggle with.
And for telling or showing, I keep in mind if what I write out is interesting and/or moves a plot along.
If not, quick tell and move on.

To many more years of you writing weird stories and us getting lost in them.

Kickstarter.
Be fully excited when you back a game, only to question your choices three years later.
If it gets delivered at all.

Any story you want to write, but you have been warned is too weird?

Man, being a writer must be great.
You get to play so many boardgames.

If there is one writing role rule that will be discussed to the heat death of the universe, it's show don't tell.
So to throw my hat in the ring.
I read Chekov's advice as: don't show me what is happening, but what the character is experiencing.

Writing the first draft I can manage.
Wrangling that draft into something good however, that's the real challenge.

A ghost writer?

I'm trying Amanda. It's hard.
(I say this with the full knowledge that it ain't my story.)
November 8, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Looking great.
November 7, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Fair enough point.
And I see you want to move on from the anti prompt, to have clearer guidelines.
Curious to see where the story ends up, and if the lack of clear anti prompt will cost it.
November 3, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Would be a shame if that would be disqualified because of the anti prompt.
Would that be a first then?
November 3, 2025 at 1:16 PM
Well, my apologies.
I thought you liked it dry 😉

Well done!

I swear, we no longer own software, we are allowed to sometimes use it.
October 21, 2025 at 11:57 AM
Well, had a decent run of it at least.
Can you warn when you do it? Don't want to vanish mid
October 6, 2025 at 12:16 PM
It takes a village to get a book out.
Always appreciate this look behind the curtain.
