I have written a syntax_tree plugin for ERB and it has been working great. But now we have run into some issues with how to format e.g. periods after som HTML-tags - to avoid whitespace errors in our emails.

How do you handle readability vs whitespace correctness?

We use maintenance tasks for this a lot. In a bigger team it is sometimes hard to remember when a task needs to be run and not. But they are great, especially when they can be restarted if stopped or crashes.

Migrations stop the deploy process completely if they fail.
