Seeing all these winter scenes makes me appreciate Kauai and also makes me miss my Michigan boyhood

Dog Life

Squirrel on lawn! Squirrel on lawn!
Run, bark, growl.
Squirrel runs up tree.
Put front paws on tree - still can’t reach squirrel.
Bark again, louder.
Sit at base of tree. Squirrel scolds and knocks bark down on head.
Bite tree. Growl. Wait.
Dig- squirrel laughs, squirrel laughs.
Bite tree!

In Georgia the chickens have paws!

Nice looking Pileated Woodpecker on our neighbor’s live oak. Such big handsome birds!

The couch is low, but the dog is long.

Saturday is Sea Hare day. I loved seeing these in the Gulf of Mexico when I was a boy! They’re beautifully strange.

I had a bat inside my house for the first time a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was able to scoop him up in a butterfly net and move him outside safely. Looking forward to seeing more bats!
