Common Eyelash fungus (Scutellinia scutellata) on logs in Bawsinch and Duddingston Nature Reserve, Edinburgh. The largest are currently less than 1mm at the moment but are going to make really impressive displays as they grow. Different log. Look like the logs of a conifer that was recently felled and cut up after it blew over in a storm.

Visited the ancient cemetery in the village of Temple in Midlothian today looking for waxcaps. Some nice Pink waxcaps (Hygrocybe calyptriformis). The white ones in the last shot don't look right for Snowy but had no pink either. #Fungi #Mushrooms #Mycology #Nature #Photography #Nikon #Scotland
