It's been almost 3 weeks since Donald Trump used Taylor Swift's songs to make 2 TikTok videos.

Taylor has said nothing.

We know how important control of her art is to Taylor, so why hasn't she admonished someone she opposes using it?

What happened to wanting to be on the "right side of history?"

Can someone please force James David Vance to read Fearon (1995).

It's called issue indivisibility. It's a concept that has been thoroughly studied for decades.

Is it too much to ask that our vice-president not be so ignorant about basic foreign policy concepts?

As @mcopelov.bsky.social is known to say, "Who actually was president in 2020?" continues to be the central cleavage of American politics in 20205.

My favorite "gag" card they did was one of the early ones--Poley Walnuts, a squirrel who appeared on the foul pole at Yankee Stadium and got himself a SSP in 2007 Topps Update:

That a Reagan judge would give up his lifetime appointment willingly because he feels a future GOP president has rendered that appointment meaningless in the midst of an authoritarian speedrun is quite remarkable:

Motivated reasoning!

Counterpoint: The irregularity of this Court's conduct is so threatening to its legitimacy that federal judges are willing to depart from norms to publicly (albeit anonymously) voice their concerns.

Hey Karoline, is this the White House complying with the court order to continue distributing SNAP benefits?

A+ for whoever is working for Fox that chose Bad Blood as the transition song before going to commercial at the end of the 4th inning (which featured the world's lamest bench clearing ever).

Bravo, no notes!

Partisan motivated reasoning is a hell of a drug.

Ah yes, the Trump White House which is notorious for its fastidious stewardship of national security information. They go to great lengths to make sure journalists don't mistakenly stumble across such sensitive materials.

To paraphrase Richard Neustadt (original below), "He'll sit here and he'll say, 'Do this, do that!' And nothing will happen. Poor Donald. It won't be a bit like The Apprentice. He'll find it very frustrating."

Just because President Trump chooses to ignore Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 of the Constitution does not mean that Article I, Section 9, Clause 7 of the Constitution does not exist.

Yes everything sucks, but I'm stealing a bit of joy here at Mount Vernon this evening to hear Ken Burns speak about his new documentary, The American Revolution, and see some sneak-peel clips!
