Kaine -- and the other presumptive opponents of protecting abortion rights -- could clear things up with a one-sentence social media post.

That's how most Senate Democrats got themselves on record.

His continued evasion and bad takes on the filibuster speak volumes.

The people & institutions who might have some ability to impose consequences on Trump -- even if only political consequences -- are fucking cowards. They could just impose the consequences now, but they don't want to, even though, as I said, it's all already quite clear. So they're waiting.

Republicans and right-wingers are consistently awful when it comes to protecting vulnerable groups, including kids.

But there's one notable exception.

The right has a long history of enthusiasm for laws that combat and punish child predators.

I think that's highly suggestive.

They know.

This is not a new opinion or position.

I've been saying it for well over a decade, at this point maybe closer to two, across a wide variety of circumstances.

It never stops being correct.

If incumbent lawmakers anywhere are implicated, Democrats must fight to remove them immediately.

Calling for colleagues to resign without fighting to remove them is cowardice personified.

If Democrats fail to get this right, Republicans will drag them into the mud -- and they'll deserve it!

The Democratic base is only just now beginning to revolt against their leaders.

Even if you trace the start to the early 2000s, this sort of transformation takes generations even in ideal conditions.

The constitutional order is already dead and gone.

The civic order does not have decades.
