Fuck you you absolute ghoul. Fuck you and the party you claim to lead. Resign in disgrace right now--from public life. Your actions will kill people. Your malice or your incompetence. You will go down as a stain on history. You could have done more and you didn't.

I got to Schiff (DC) and Padilla (San Diego) but only on voicemail. But given both these dudes track records, I don't have high hopes.

Finished original comics are the best option for your portfolio if you wanna write.

And, lastly, if you're told no, that editorial can't read your work, take it well and try again when you've got more experience & are asked. Don't say that your fan work was rejected by a pub that can't read it.

Also, fan art & unlettered comic pages are okay for portfolio submissions for everyone but writers. Finished original work, samples off of the publisher's posted scripts, your version of publicly available scripts from writers, and again, original work, are best to submit for art jobs.

As a person who was in editorial at big pubs for years, I'll second that.

Some pubs have submission guidelines posted if they take submissions, and those are NEVER for licensed properties. If they don't, ya just gotta make things and one day hope to be invited to pitch.

There're a lot of factors at play. The new thing won't be helping with moving, though bills will be set after it starts.

In the meantime, if you have anything to send my way, I will happily give you as much as I can in return. I have comics & zines & whatever--please enjoy them.
