New on my "brag shelf" — my Peabody Award!

It’s not an individual award; I’m not THAT special. It’s a personalized version of the "institutional award" bestowed upon the STAR TREK franchise in 2023. Anyone who worked in a credited capacity on any of the shows can buy one.

The “brag shelf” of multi-award-winning and New York Times bestselling (and modest, don’t forget modest) author David Mack. It occupies two tall shelves stacked high with his various published tomes and awards he has won -- including the most recently added 2023 Peabody Award statuette, which is not an individual honor but rather an "institutional award" personalized to recognize Mack's specific, credited contributions to the filmed/televised incarnations of the Star Trek franchise. Anybody who did credited work for any of the TV series can get one of these, if they're willing to shell out a fistful of cash. The two shelves of books are separated by a narrow shelf packed with ceramic Bunnykins figurines by Royal Doulton, as well as numerous other tiny sculpted, cast, carved, or glass-blown representations of bunnies, aka “The Great Bunny Council.” A Peabody Award statuette, which consists of a short, vertically oriented black cylinder base with an engraved brass plaque on the front, and a cast bronze medallion mounted on top. The engraving on this award's plaque reads: 2023 PEABODY AWARD STAR TREK Insitutional Award DAVID MACK WRITER / CONSULTANT STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE STAR TREK: PRODIGY College of Journalism & Mass Communications The University of Georgia Behind it are some Star Trek books containing stories written by David Mack.
