I've always liked the ideas of having a 'f*ck it' list, of things that you're sure you never want to do before you die.

... and he phoned me between performances of Lord of the Rings at Drury Lane (he was Gandalf, natch) to give me advice on how best to manage the hump (sew it into a t-shirt). I only ever met him once in person, but he changed my life many times. If he is dead, hail and farewell. (3/3)

When I was auditioning, if I noticed his name on a actor's CV, I'd ask what he was like to work with. In seventeen years of directing on the London fringe, I never heard a single negative response. When I was directing Richard III, at Catford, a mutual friend passed my number to him.. (2/3)

I remember it slightly differently; I recall a male and female voice over the closing credits of the first film that went something like:

Male: You mean that's it?
Female: No, darling, that's just the supporting feature. The Meaning of Life will be along in a bit.

I recall that after this, Tony Blackburn said 'I won't take it personally.' and my sister, who I was watching it with, said 'Why shouldn't you?'
