My reasons for choosing the right is the information flows from top to bottom. The left image flows both top to bottom and left to right so is harder (for me) to follow.

Was at Lowell Observatory last night but inside at this time. Many visitors were outside (using the telescopes) and saw it and were very impressed!

I am using a star tracker so that the camera/mount moves with the stars. Without a tracker and at 500mm I would be limited to about 1 second exposures.
