I'm simply saying as a staffer who is occasionally -- although fortunately not too often -- treated as "the help" by students I'm not exactly brimming with outrage when senior leadership is put in a similar position. And *that's* a class thing.

Oh I’m sure I’m being overly sensitive to this, but the horror of being mistaken for a staffer is not something I’m particularly sympathetic to.

Here is where I will push back somewhat gently, because as a staffer my status and position is not equal to the PoC who are faculty, despite race/gender.

There is room for a nuanced conversation here that is attentive to class and hierarchy in addition to race/gender.

The thing about Trump is that he’s a totally unreliable partner who is also dumb, impulsive, and easily manipulated. So it makes sense to play nice with him, but only if you don’t cede ideological or political ground, because you know he’s going to screw you over later.
