I settled down after listening to Will Saletan on The Bulwark discussing the situation with Tim Miller. Will claims the Democrats won (you can jump to around the 2-minute mark to hear his take):

Initially, it was so Johnson wouldn't have to seat the new Rep from Arizona, and thereby tip the scale on the Espstein file, and then they thought of some more stuff, which is where I get lost.

I've been pushing the idea since March:
"The lower courts are doing their damnedest to keep Trump in check."
And thank god for that. Then again, imagine how people who depend on the courts feel when lower court actions get hit with stays and other delaying tactics, and the biggest question on your mind is, can I feed my kids?

For now, I'm going to assume I'm missing something in all of this (wouldn't be the first time) and I'll wake tomorrow and it'll all make sense. In the meantime, wine, Ativan, and Netflix.

His disease (narcissism, among others) doesn't permit him to process descent. He may hear the boos, but his shrunken brain advises him it's adulation.
How else could one explain it?

And this is nearly the least offensive of his crimes... Imagine having fallen on hard times with two kids to feed, and discovering that the very thing upon which you relied and that offered you any hope was taken away. I can't think of any worse horror than having hungry children.
Imagine.

"...it will be good for Dems politically in the midterms."
Yes, but... A lot of Americans will either be without insurance or have to get second mortgages (50 years!") to pay for minimal coverage—at best.
We have a strange week ahead of us, which is something I tend to say every Sunday.

It's as if they're ("they" being Thiel/Project 2025) setting him up to fail so Vance can slip into the Oval Office (via 25th Amendment) and appear as a hero, or something.
But not in time to save SNAP. They'll blame Trump.
