I know this is old news, but the Trump admin is using official channels of information to promote lies. This is propaganda, plain and simple. This is a screenshot I just took at www.fns.usda.gov/snap/supplem...

Proving I'm not a robot has become an exercise in abstract art criticism. This is a real Microsoft CAPTCHA. Reader, I failed the test.

Yes, I attended the amazing #nokings event in #greenbay, and yes my sign had a historical quotation: "In America, the law is king." -- Thomas Paine @indivisiblebrownco.bsky.social @harveyjkaye.bsky.social

(Adding alt text.) Note that almost 38K people liked this post, which is an egregious lie. Or, has Trump actually forgotten that he was president on Jan. 6 and was fomenting violence precisely to stop Biden from becoming president?

Trump posted this statement on "Truth Social" on Saturday blaming Biden for something that happened when Trump himself was president. This will be a really great example of the unreliability of primary sources, if education and democracy manage to survive this president.

Speaking of DHS and propaganda, in case you missed this post featuring John Gast's 1872 "American Progress": x.com/DHSgov/statu... -- be sure not to miss the encoded shout-out to Nazism in the text, in the form of the capitalized Hs.

This ideological cleansing of American history arguably ticks every box on Jason Stanley's checklist for fascist politics.

I don't have a picture that does justice to the crowd at #nokingsday in #greenbay, but the roar of the people as my wife and I approached Broadway Street was amazing!

Inspiring turnout (and lots of sympathetic passers by) for #NoKings in both #SturgeonBay (left photo) and #GreenBay (right photo) today. Looks like democracy defenders turned out in large numbers in towns and cities all across #Wisconsin!

Proud of #greenbay for its amazing #pride event today, including a flag raising, rousing speeches, and a super performance by Traveling Suitcase!

I think Jason Stanley's discussion of fascist politics in *How Fascism Works* is relevant here. Hasn't Trump been converting these strategies into policies? @protectdemocracy.org

In *How Fascism Works,* Jason Stanley made a distinction between "fascist politics" and fascist states. Trump has found myriad ways in the past 3 months to convert textbook fascist political strategies into policies. At what point do Americans conclude that he's trying to create a fascist state?

Exquisite spring ephemerals emerged in the past day or so to grace #BairdCreek, a natural area in #GreenBay protected by citizen action going back to 1996. #gratitude

Over 900 protectors showed up for democracy in #greenbay today! Excellent speakers focused on making government work for all Americans and protecting #dueprocess for every person in this country. #handsoff @air152.bsky.social @indivisible.org @50501movement.bsky.social

I'm seeing lots of snippets from the U.S. Court of Appeals 4th Circuit decision regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, but it's worth reading in its entirety: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

First, at least a thousand people showed up on very short notice, in rainy, windy, and barely above-freezing temps, to oppose Elon Musk's attempts to buy the state supreme court election. (Musk was holding a "town hall meeting.")
