There was an increased level of checks at Singapore in Feb2020. I think due to their understanding SARS they knew the potential of COVID. In the U.K. there seemed to be a down playing of the potential of the problem, with phrases such as flu like symptoms.

In the same way that the belief that the British don’t need to react against a pandemic or don’t need to be part of the largest economic market in the world. What could possibly go wrong?

Can you let me know when Johnson’s trial for gross misconduct in public office/gross negligence manslaughter will be?
Just asking for a country beyond sick of having to suffer the consequences of these charlatans and their don’t-give-a-fuck-cos-we-don’t-need-to abuses of power.

I experienced temperature checks at Thailand and Singapore airports as well as Singapore restaurants along with mandatory hand sanitizers. Returned to Heathrow, not one check. Same again for my son who returned a month later. In my part of the U.K. the Cheltenham festival went ahead after I returned

I found the experience of returning to the U.K. very surreal after SE Asia in Feb2020.No checks at Heathrow, compared to temperature checks in Singapore and Thailand.Even a month later, still no checks or controls in place. Friends and relatives completely unaware of the seriousness of the situation

I came back to U.K. from SE Asia in Feb2020, having experienced how serious they were taking the pandemic. It was like being in a film where you are the only person aware of the danger and all around you looked at you as if you were mad when explaining the dangers. All down to government complacency

I think the response from Blazing Saddles of “ Horse Shit” is appropriate here.

Without doubt in my mind, history will condemn this narcissistic clown as the worst PM our country has had to endure. From response to Covid to leaving the EU, he has brought the U.K. to a position of steep decline of fortunes for us all.

Criminally negligent

I returned to the U.K. from SE Asia in Feb 2020 and found the lack of response to the pandemic unbelievably lacking in the U.K. to the point of being criminally negligent compared to the seriousness of measures all ready being taken in SE Asia.

They could downplay the fall to 3.6% by comparing the rate to the Eurozone, which is only 2.1%. But another bias won’t let them do that.

The tragedy? Labour still won’t admit it.

So instead of rebuilding the relationship, they’re doubling down on border theatre, hostile-environment politics and a pretend reset that’s already falling apart.

Brexit was Project Folly. And unless Labour changes course, Project Folly becomes permanent.

The First Law of Brexit:

Brexit will devour any U.K. politician in power who denies it’s wrong.

Labour politicians are not immune to this Law.
