Just browsing, thanks.
I took that as referencing the fact that he has a White House press pass and gets to be a racist troll in the actual Oval Office. To him, that's winning.

Agreed. It had great potential on a lot of levels.

I'm glad for you, and truly sorry for you that it was cancelled. I WANTED to love it, and maybe I could have gotten there in another season. Maybe. 😉

Did someone love The Acolyte, though? I am yet to encounter them. (And would be wary of them if I did.)

The destruction of college basketball in particular and college sports more broadly continues apace.

Did one of ours last month, & am still recovering/debating doing the other. The worst is getting all the old stuff off & cleaning the surface. Just terrible. But also, doable. Pace yourself, & take your time with the new stuff. Or tell the handyman you have the supplies & save a buck!

One of the end-of-year projects my AP US History students sometimes did was an NCAA-style "Presidential Tournament," where kids had to research & persuade classmates their guy was the better president. Biggest upset ever was Arthur over Lincoln in the Final Four! 😂

He really is fascinating! The Unexpected President is probably the best biography of him (by Scott Greenberger). There's an older one called Gentleman Boss that's maybe deeper, but not as fun.

He was the last real Lincoln Republican to be president (sorry, Hoosier Benjamin Harrison). So much potential lost, not least that without him the Redemption movement was allowed to harden into place.
Highly recommend the book the series is based on, Candice Millard's Destiny of the Republic.

The cast is superb across the board, but you do get the feeling at times that Whitford is playing Josh Lyman playing James G. Blaine, and that Nick Offerman is playing Ron Swanson playing Chester Arthur.
(Also, the final episode should have been two, with more depth.)

I'd like to imagine them at Lucas Oil Stadium in April.

That front door! WOW!

Still so angry about The Peripheral. And Night Sky!

*self-reflection* 😂

Painful!

I snorted aloud. :-)

Thank you for this.

So cool!

Did it take 15 years for the SGU crew to cross the void instead of 3? Eli's math was WAY off!

My 1st was that my (now-adult) son could totally do this -- as a kid he was constantly doing things that were so outrageous/dangerous it had never occurred to us to tell him not to do them!

"Cousin Balki, are you a secret agent?"

"Well, of course not! Don't be ree-deek-yoo-lus!"

This is near my hometown, and so I always have to share this now-removed actual state road sign off I-65.
(Mr. White laid out the town in the 1850s; Mr. Brown founded his more than a decade earlier.)
