I’ve had a long, tragic run with Yorkshires. Today, that streak ends with some aplomb.

When me and the lad watched Taskmaster live at Glastonbury this year. Look at his little face. So happy. (Daughter was behind us somewhere, playing it cool.)

My daughter is 18 today and to celebrate me somehow keeping her alive to adulthood she’s bought me her first legal pint.

Whatever you think of Starmer (and I’m far from his biggest fan), this sort of lying horseshit is precisely what every Labour government gets slung at them. Any form of left-wing politics - no matter how watered down and inadequate - is automatically maligned to beguile the minds of the gullible.

I was producer/ director on some of the very first TV shows Laura Woods presented. From the first second she spoke on camera I could tell she was going to go far. Now look at her, fronting the ITV World Cup. I’m delighted for her. Top lass. Here she is on a mystifying esports gig we did in Germany.

Last of the summer’s mirabelle plums picked. What a joy they’ve been. Next, it looks like I have a healthy crop of grapes arriving. Fingers crossed they ripen without birds finding them.

All the lilies in my garden are flowering but I’m not allowed to have them in the house. Apparently they’re lethal to our cat. Useless little bastard. So I have to keep them in my office (back bedroom) where only me and passing pedestrians get to enjoy them.

First plums this year from my mirabelle tree in the garden. Still a little green but they’ll ripen up lovely in a day or two. This is about 1/10th of the whole crop, I reckon.

Return from Glastonbury to find my lilies are flowering. First time in 3 years I’ve kept the lily bugs from eating them. And first ever cherries off a 4YO dwarf tree. Only 3 of them but they tasted divine.
