First layer of oil paint down on the new face. Detail and speckling/spattering (the fun stuff) will happen after this layer dries to the touch.

Here's one of my studio assistants putting together a brand-new HUSKY shop table for me to sculpt at. (How do you like my vintage, beat-up floor?)
She took it very seriously and I didn't have to go back and tighten very many screws . . . what a trooper!

Just finished sculpting the clay master & building the silicone mold on Chuck Lindberg. A hard jacket mold comes next; waiting on materials to arrive. I intend to cast him in urethane resin the end of next week.
One of 13 full size figures I am creating for the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum.

Me & my sculpting "assistant" in the studio. You can listen to me talk about this work in a new podcast at either of the links below.

It's a great chat & I almost sound intelligent, for a Marine . . .

It took us several months to pull off, but we finished our SPACE KIDS family movie, & you can watch it on YouTube. Note - comments are disabled because I don't want strangers leaving inappropriate remarks behind for my grandchildren.

Another busy day here in the studio, preparing a painting to be used by the Gettysburg National Battlefield Park showing the 20th Maine Regiment on Little Round Top. I may have gotten a little dirty . . .

I have been making reference models for my upcoming Gettysburg paintings. I love getting paid to be a 10 year-old child.

A blast from my past; 40 years ago. I was a starving artist - look at those hollow cheeks!

My dear wife, Pat, and I had a wonderful time yesterday at my nephew’s wedding. I officiated the ceremony, then relaxed for the rest of the night - aside from the dancing!

I saw it on TV on a Friday night during the summer of 1976. It changed my life. Seriously. It happened at the very time I was discovering Airfix HO scale soldiers and Britains Deetail painted figures.

My dear wife, Pat, and I were the "Blue Ribbon" author /illustrator duo in the Alphabet Forest at Minnesota State Fair last monday - what a blast! Lots of autographs and crop art on a stick. I may have had a corn dog or two . . .
