Our GDPR and PECR rights are our legal friends here.
I have demanded, and received, compensation from organisations in the past which have spammed me without my opt-in consent. The ICO is sadly mostly useless, but orgs are still terrified of being reported to it.

That’s a really lovely idea! I’m not often in for the postie (and often get parcels delivered to pick-up points for similar reasons, but sometimes have to let them in for neighbours in the stair), but that’s a nice way to let them know that their work is nevertheless appreciated!
